Come learn the basics of canoeing at Buescher State Park!

Meet at the Canoe Barn at 8am in Buescher State Park.
8:30-9:00 : Safety orientation, get life vests and paddles
9:00-9:40 : Water time while practicing paddle strokes and balance. Back at the shore by 9:10.
9:40 – 10:00 : Safely exit canoe, put away canoe and safety equipment

Limited canoes available.  Get your spot reserved by emailing Madalyn.Miller@tpwd.texas.gov

Bring:  Shoes you can get wet that offer some protection (Closed toe is preferred.  Flip flops not allowed.), plenty of bottled water, wear clothes that can dry quickly if they get wet, sunscreen, hat.

All materials will be provided.

Program is free after Park entrance fee is paid.
*Headquarters does not open until 8am, you will need to be at the Canoe Barn by 8:30 sharp.  Please pay for your day pass ahead of time by buying a day pass online.  Or plan to make enough time to pay at headquarters before the program starts.*

To continue canoeing after the program, you will be able to rent a canoe from Buescher State Park Headquarters for $10 an hour.
