Trap Making for Kids at Earth Native 2023

May 6

May 6, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 3:30 pm

10:00am - 3:30pm

Earth Native Wilderness School in Cedar Creek, Texas, is hosting a trap making class for kids, age 8-13 at this drop-off class. Trapping is much more effective than hunting in a survival situation and traps are a lot of fun to build! Kids will learn trapping techniques, build some traps and snares, talk about trapping ethics, and consider how to make the traps non-lethal for catch and release methods. They will also search through the woods to find animals trails and other sign that show good places to set traps. At the end of this class, each child will have a simple trap to bring home!

Requirements:

  • Your child will need to have a Mora Craftline Basic Fixed Blake Knife (stainless steel) for this class.
  • Students attending this class must be KNIFE CERTIFIED with ENWS or have equivalent knife experience.
