The 16th annual “battle of the ladles”—and perhaps the best soup, stew, and chili you’ve ever sipped—is on in Bastrop, Texas.

The heat is definitely on among many of Bastrop County’s leading restaurants and caterers—as they conjure up crowd pleasing soups, stews and chili for the 16th annual Empty Bowl fundraiser on Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020. At stake are bragging rights for the county’s “best”.

Chefs from area restaurants and caterers will be serving up their “best”. As many as 20 restaurants and caterers will bring to the table their best efforts for attendees to sample. The array promises to offer something for every taste—from country style to Cajun to vegetarian; from old favorites to great new twists. Tickets are $25 per person; children 12 and under eat free.
