La Grange Kanoe Klasika is a canoe and kayak race designed for both the competitor and casual paddler who just wants to experience the event for fun. The race is approximately 18 rover miles from Smithville Riverbend Park down Plum Park on the Colorado.
Be prepared. There are no rest stops, aid stations or support during the event. Please have electrolytes, food, and water in your boat for the duration of the event.
Have fun! If you’re out for a challenge, you’ve found it! An 18-mile sprint in the Texas summer heat can be brutal! If you just want to have fun and enjoy the river with a great group of people, then you can do that too! You won’t find a friendlier bunch than the Texas canoe racing community! They may even have you in a racing canoe before you know it!
