Enjoy a full day of music, food, fireworks and fun with this inaugural Smithville, Texas event. Event begins downtown in the morning with a 5K Freedom Run (register in advance) with the Smithville Parks & Recreation Department, and a Patriotic Parade Downtown. At noon, head out to Riverbend Park for tournaments and contests, the kids water park fun, live music, and fireworks display to end the festivities. Parking shuttles will run from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Smithville Elementary School and Smithville Recreation Center.

• 1 p.m. RIVERBEND PARK OPENS to the public

    • Cornhole tournament ($20 team entry fee)
    • Horseshoe tournament ($20 team entry fee)
    • Washer tournament ($20 team entry fee)
    • Patriotic cake baking contest ($5 to enter)
    • Pie baking contest ($5 to enter)
    • Uncle Sam look-a-like contest (Free to enter)
    • Hot dog eating contest ($10 entry fee per person)

• 1-7 p.m.- Kid’s water fun park
