Watch a Texas staple with four days rodeo action and live music performed at the rodeo grounds at Mayfest Park in Bastrop, Texas starting most nights at 7:30 p.m. and ending late at night with the dances. See barrel racing exhibition (5-7:30 p.m.), bull riding, roping skills, steer wrestling and more including rodeo slack which narrows down the competition so only the best cowboys and cowgirls try for the prize money on Aug. 5 and 6 at this official CRPA-sanctioned rodeo. Also a fan favorite is the always entertaining Mutton Bustin’ for kids age 4-8 years old to try and ride a sheep.

- 9 p.m., Dance to the Wyatt Ellis Band at the Showbarn next door.
Saturday, Aug. 6 – event attendance is free for age 10 and younger.
