The Bastrop Museum & Visitor Center is excited to unveil “Behind the Scenes at the Museum,” a special exhibit opening  that takes visitors on a fascinating journey through the hidden world of museum work. Behind the Scenes at the Museum is on display January through March 2024 in Bastrop, Texas. It is free and open to the public.

Behind the Scenes at the Museum sheds light on the fascinating history and inner workings of museums, from their origins in mid-16th century art collections to the crucial roles of storage, provenance (ownership records), and the dedicated staff and volunteers who keep everything running smoothly.

Through engaging information panels and a diverse collection of artifacts spanning the 18th to 20th centuries, visitors will discover:
