You’re invited to our third monthly BIG SIT on Saturday, March 27 from 8:30am-11:00am in Fisherman’s Park. Hosted by Bird City Bastrop, Bastrop County Audubon Society and the City of Bastrop. Meet at the lower parking lot by the river.

MARCH is Youth Art Month and we’ll also be having a YOUTH ART PROJECT at the Fisherman’s Park Pavilion from 10:00am-1:00pm to coincide with this sit.

What is a ???????????? ????????????? It’s a birdwatching circle! The participants see how many birds can be spotted or heard without leaving the circle. It’s great for beginners because more experienced folks will be around to offer guidance.

The Bastrop County Audubon Society will provide an experienced birder to lead each circle. This is a come-and-go event so come whenever you like!

Please bring whatever you need to be comfortable, whether it be a blanket or chair, binoculars or scope, field guide, water, snacks, etc. You also don’t have to bring anything to participate! Your eyes and ears are enough! Many birders stand at the “sits” and many folks bird by ear and with their naked eyes. There are public restrooms in Fisherman’s Park.
