ENWS: Introduction to Wildlife Tracking 2024

Whether you are a naturalist, hiker, or just someone who appreciates wildlife this Cedar Creek, Texas, class will spend ample time in the field discovering and identifying tracks and sign left by mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and even insects.
This is one of Earth Native Wilderness School’s basic wildlife tracking courses but the course is open to all skill levels, and every student is guaranteed to learn a great deal about the art and science behind wildlife tracking.
Topics covered in the course will include:
- Wildlife track and sign identification
- Mammal and bird foot morphology as an identification tool
- Basic animal gait interpretation
- Wildlife behavior and local ecology
- Recording tracks through sketching and plaster casting
- Utilizing tracking field guides as tools for continuing education
This is an adult class but open to ages 16+. Camping available.
