Event Navigation
Join Earth Native School in Bastrop, Texas, for a two-day basic wilderness survival and self-reliance course and learn natural resource based primitive wilderness survival skills utilized by indigenous populations for hundreds of thousands of years.
Each year we hear countless stories of ordinary people who are thrust into unexpected survival situations. Do you have the skills necessary to take care of yourself or your family if you were lost, in a natural disaster, or injured away from immediate help?
Also, these skills can be a really fun pursuit for families and can enhance your camping and outdoor trips and experiences.
Class topics will include:
- fire by friction
- basic shelter building
- trapping small game
- local edible and medicinal plants
- water collection and purification, making rope from plants
- basic land navigation utilizing the sun and the stars
- creating a survival kit for your car and backpack
- and more…
This class is part lecture and part hands on participation. A detailed list of what to bring will be emailed. Camping option is available.
