Stroll through the Victorian era with Smithville, Texas’ annual Lighted Parade on Dec. 2 with theme “A Christmas Carol”, named after Charles Dickens’ 1843 novella of the same title. Parade starts at 7 p.m. along 1st Street and running along Main Street. Santa is sure to make an appearance. All entries will be lighted. This event is the culmination of daylong family-friendly Festival of Lights holiday activities.

The Smithville hometown lighted Christmas parade was originally named the Fantasy of Lights Parade until producers on the Hope Floats production set renamed it Festival of Lights in 1997.
