Main Event is held every first weekend, Friday evening and all-day Saturday, in downtown Bastrop, Texas with a variety of changing activities in artistic and interactive family experiences such as the Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest. All activities are free, and the event is hosted by multiple artists and businesses.

Here are the activities in February.

FRIDAY, February 7th

• Art Walk Is Back! – 6pm-9pm
  Local art galleries and shops will feature specials & be open late so come support your local makers! Location: Main Street Bastrop
• Sketch a Live Model – 7pm-8pm
  Bring a partner or friend and try your hand at sketching! (No experience preferred)
  Location: Bridges Emporium, 920 Main Street

SATURDAY, February 8

• Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest – 11am-8:30pm
  View all the creative chalk art masterpieces & choose your favorite! All retail shops will have a ballot.
• Valentine Bouquets – 1pm-1:30pm
  Christine Huber (Two Souls Desire) will demo how to care & handle your flowers just in time for Valentine’s Day!
  Location: RA Green Mercantile, 1022 Main StREET
• Mini Pastels for Beginners – 3pm-4pm
  Ginger Baldwin & CJ Jordan will lead you through making your own mini pastel masterpiece!
  Location: Bridges Emporium, 920 Main Street
