Kicking off the 34th annual Hogeye Festival in Elgin, Texas, the Pearls Before Swine Art Show delivers. Local artisans display their works with plenty of talent on display. The opening Gala and Reception is Thursday, Oct. 21 from 6 to 9 p.m. Pearls is always a popular event featuring the art show, the silent auction fundraiser as well as live music and food and drink.

Elgin area artists should start preparing for the Elgin Arts Association’s Pearls Before Swine Art Gala to be held this October during the Hogeye
Festival. Pearls Before Swine is a juried art show that awards cash prizes for first, second and third places as well as the popular “peoples choice” award. Thanks to the cooperation of the Elgin Historical Association, this year’s gala will be held at the historic Elgin Depot Museum.

Pearls Before Swine is the primary fundraiser for the Elgin Arts Association. Each year the Arts Association awards cash scholarships to area students who intend to pursue arts related studies.

The gallery will also be open Friday, Oct. 22 and Saturday, Oct. 23 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
