Smithville Empty Bowl will serve soups from local restaurants on March 23 at the Smithville Recreation Center in Smithville, Texas. Each person will receive their own hand-created bowl from students and local artists, adding an additional local touch to this fundraiser to help fight hunger in the area.

The Smithville Empty Bowl project began in 2011 as a partnership between the Smithville Food Pantry, the Smithville Community Gardens, and the Lost Pines Artisans’ Alliance to help the community become more aware of hunger in the Smithville area and to address this urgent need. Partners have grown to include Samella Williams Angels Unaware Ministry and Smithville Community Clinic.
