Imagine an evening with friends sharing local food and drinks at a long table in the heart of historic downtown Bastrop underneath the stars of a Texas sky. The Table on Main is set for Sunday, April 23rd, and is an outdoor dining experience in historic downtown Bastrop on Main Street. The event will take place between Pine and Chestnut from 5:00pm – 8:00 p.m. “We have been overwhelmed by the support of our local community- from our downtown restaurants, local producers, area high schools and community supporters,” said Main Street Director Sarah O’Brien, “we have countless volunteers and local businesses involved ensuring the success of this new event.”

The event will showcase the best of downtown Bastrop’s restaurant and area farmers. Organizers anticipate a sold-out event with only 140 general admission seats available. Guests will enjoy cocktail hour from 5 to 6 p.m., and dine from 6 to 8 p.m.. Live entertainment is being provided by Texas Gold. Tickets are available online only at www.bastropdowntown.com/table-on-main and are $100 per person. Proceeds from the event will be used for downtown beautification and promotion efforts.

The farm tables are being produced by students at Cedar Creek High School’s Shop Class and Bastrop High School’s Junior ROTC will be assisting with event clean up. “We really want to make this event something the entire community could be proud of, and our hope is that we will accomplish just that” said O’Brien. This year’s Table on Main participating restaurants are: Baxter’s on Main, Piney Creek Chop House, Paw Paw’s Catfish House, Neighbor’s Kitchen & Yard, Urban Cowboy Southern Fusion, Tough Cookie Bakery, Main Street Cafe, Viejo’s Tacos y Tequila, and Maxine’s Cafe & Bakery. “Our downtown eateries have embraced this concept and are working hand in hand to ensure this event runs smoothly,” said restaurant Chairman Rick Brackett with Neighbor’s Kitchen & Yard. This year’s products are brought to you by these growers and producers: Bastrop Cattle Company, Yonder Way Farm, Berdoll Pecan Candy & Gift Co., Gretchen Bee Ranch, The Mozzarella Company, Champion Farms, Beck Gardens, Grow Love Farms, Johnson’s Backyard Garden. “We are excited to be able to showcase local and regional products in this farm to table setting,” said Brackett.

This event would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors. The 2017 Premier Sponsors for Table on Main are HEB and Platinum Financial Holdings & Development. Other Sponsors include: First National Bank of Bastrop, Lost Pines Art Bazaar, Brenda Abbott Floral Design & Debbie Denny Media Solutions.

Due to the special nature of this event, we cannot accommodate special dietary restrictions. In the event of severe weather, the event’s rain date is Sunday, May 14th.
