The Cactus House is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage with a huge porch on a 42-acre Wildlife Preserve.

Relax and escape to the sounds and views of the woods on out 42 acre wildlife preserve. Decorated in a cactus motif and set in a Lost Pines wildlife easement, the newly renovated house has three bedrooms, two baths, a well equipped kitchen, large covered back porch, and a fenced back yard ideal for dogs. It is located on 42 wooded acres with hiking trails and a pond. The house is secluded and can not be seen from other houses though there are other residents on the property.

It is close to Bastrop State park, Bastrop Lake, water sports on the Colorado river, Round Top Antique Fair, the Sherwood Forest Faire, and several wedding venues. The area has many restaurants, an entertainment center, museums, and shopping within 20 minutes.

The house has central HVAC, a cozy electric fireplace with heater, 50″ HD TV, wireless internet, dishwasher, electric range, microwave, K-cup coffee maker (with coffee provided), large refrigerator, and full size washer/dryer set. The master bedroom has a king size bed, large closet, and attached bath. The second bedroom has a queen size bed. The third bedroom is ideal for families with children and has four twin size (175 lb limit each) bunk beds. Cots and air mattresses are available if extra bedding is needed.

The 400 square foot back porch is covered and furnished with a bench swing and comfortable seating for 10. It overlooks a 1000 square foot fenced back yard and a beautiful, graceful oak tree. We provide an outdoor fire pit, wood, and a propane grill. Beyond the fenced yard is a deer feeder that often gives visitors a view of feeding wildlife.

The larger, 42 acre property is fenced with controlled access gates. There are hiking trails and gravel roads for mountain biking. The owners’ dogs roam the property freely and enjoy meeting new friendly dogs.
