Morris Memorial Park, located at 802 North Avenue C, provides a place for students and residents to have facilities for recreation. Located on the site of the former Morris Hospital. In 1990, the City of Elgin received funds for a reimbursement grant from Texas Parks and Wildlife to develop a park complete with swimming pool, fish pond, basketball court, playground, hike and bike trail. A grant from the Meadows foundation was instrumental in the success of this project. Complete with picnic tables, benches and families of ducks, this park is a great place to bring the family and picnic. The Morris Memorial Park opened in May 1995 and is one of the most popular parks year round.
