Paw Paw’s Catfish House

Ever since I was a little girl I have been fishing and hunting with my Paw-Paw and Maw-Maw. We would catch fish that were bigger than I was and I always remember how much fun we had. We would have big fish fry’s in the back yard and all of our friends and family would come. Paw-Paw would always fry catfish and hushpuppies until everyone was so full they could not eat any more. I remember running around and playing and enjoying life! As I grew up I spent my last 20 years in the restaurant business learning and one day hoping that I would have a restaurant of my own. It finally happened and I know my Paw-Paw and Maw-Maw are smiling down on us!

My husband and I have worked very hard to create a place here in Bastrop that people enjoy coming to. We opened the doors February 2013. The walls are decorated with pictures of my family doing what they loved the most- Fishing. Our menu is simple and all of our food is hand battered to order. We want you to come here, bring your family, have a great time and keep coming back.

Our motto here is fish, family, and big stories! We know that with fishing always comes bit stories! Stop by some time soon and let’s swap stories!
