Fun, social and friendly, Pickleball in Bastrop County, Texas is a sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton and ping pong. The rules are simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players. Local courts, indoors and out, are available for play in Bastrop, Elgin and Smithville. The game can be played as singles or doubles and enjoyed by all ages and skill levels.

Bastrop Pickleball Association, 141 Tahitian Drive, Bastrop, TX (eight outside courts at Tahitian Village) You’ll need to bring your own paddles and balls. Tourists welcome to use free of charge. Please read the rules before play. Open play dates:

  • Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, 7-11 a.m.
  • Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday (Ladies Night), 5-8 p.m.

Elgin Recreation Center, 361 State Hwy 95, Elgin, TX (temporary courts set up in gym) All equipment provided.

  • Open play dates: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday

Smithville Recreation Center, 106 Royston Street Smithville, TX (courts set up in gym). All equipment provided.

  • Open play dates: Tuesday, Thursday, 9 a.m. to noon
