Calling all photographers! Bring your camera and your cell phone to capture your fun in Bastrop County during the Tex Heritage 2024 Photo Contest which runs until Oct. 18, 2024. Prizes valued at up to $8,000 will be awarded in multiple categories.
The theme of the overall contest with 31 categories is “Texas is Amazing,” but Bastrop County’s category is a few steps more personal and playful with our favorite “Play in Bastrop County!” category enhanced by our outdoors, family friendliness and things to do in Central Texas.
However, this contest gets even better! Photographers can submit Bastrop County photos to three separate categories, which means you can submit up to 15 photos taken inside the County! Relevant categories are: Play in Bastrop County, Texas Independence Trail Region, and Historic Sites of Central/SouthEast Texas.
Located just east of Travis County and Austin, Texas, Bastrop County fills that Texmazing bucket list. Bastrop County is an amazing place to let go, have fun, and also relax. Capture it for prizes and kudos from us.
HERE’S HOW YOU CAN PARTICIPATE IN CENTRAL TEXAS
It’s time to explore. With almost 900 square miles and lots of open roads within our County limits, there’s plenty to do, eat and places to stay. Two pine-treed state parks in the Lost Pines Region, the Colorado River, Lake Bastrop, three historic downtowns and many historic sites, family friendly activities, outdoor adventures, delicious dining, relaxing stays, races, zip lining, biking, and so much more in this treasure trove of a County.
1. Capture images in Bastrop County
2. Choose up to 15 of your best images (5 for each of the three relevant categories)
3. Upload to the following categories:
a. “Play in Bastrop County!”
b. “Best of the Texas Independence Trail Region” (28 County Region including Bastrop County)
c. “Historic Sites of Central/SouthEast Texas” (47 County Region including Bastrop County)
4. Cross your fingers!

COMPLETE RULES ARE AT TEX HERITAGE 2024 PHOTO CONTEST
Over $8,000 in prizes will be awarded overall in the Tex Heritage 2024 Photo Contest.
The overall winner of the Tex Heritage contest will receive a Miranda Lambert-themed Lindale Getaway. The winner in each category will receive $250. Don’t forget the Fan Favorite choice either with $100 up for grabs! Winners in categories – Texas Independence Trail, Texas Forest Trail, Texas Hill Country Trail, Texas Lakes Trails – will receive a Tex Heritage prize package.
Entering photographs is free and online. Each photographer is allowed up to 5 entries per category as long as it hasn’t been entered in the Tex Heritage photo contest prior, and each image is only allowed to be submitted one time overall. There are no age limits, and it’s okay for you, other people (only do this with their written permission), and pets to be included in the image. Just show off your playful side in Bastrop County.
