The Heart of the Pines Volunteer Fire Department is hosting its 2nd annual Jr. Fire Rodeo at the fire station near Alum Creek about 5 miles east of Bastrop, Texas. They will have kids activities with a water slide bounce house, cake walk by donation, silent auction, and food and drink. Also helping the firemen is a raffle with prizes featuring two hog hunts and stays, gym memberships, treats and local baskets.

This is a fun, charming way to help support a local VFD, where, when duty calls, volunteer firemen drop what they’re doing and head to the station for car accidents, weather events and fires in Bastrop County.
