Located in the historic Union Depot, circa 1903, the Elgin Depot Museum, restored in 2002, includes an extensive archive collection and is the repository for historic photographs in the community. The museum has both rotating exhibits and permanent exhibits on the development of Elgin and an Area Veterans Display.
Museum volunteers and staff are available to answer questions. Operated by the Elgin Historical Association, the museum is open Friday and Saturday from noon to 4 p.m., and on Sip, Shop & Stroll nights from 5-8 p.m. The museum is also open during special events held around town. Group tours are available by appointment.
